Graeme
Dickson,
a
Shopfitter,
as-well
as
a
Carpenter
&
Joiner
by
trade,
commenced
his
apprenticeship
in
1983,
having
completed
year
11
at
Melbourne’s
Syndal
Technical
School
where he exceled in Woodwork, Graphics, Mathmatics, & English.
After
completing
year
11,
he
commenced
his
apprenticeship
at
what
was
then,
Silverwood
&
Beck.
Soon
after
completion,
he
moved
on
with
the
sole
ambition
to
gain
the
much
needed
knowledge to become Self-employed.
In
1995
he
was
offered
a
contract
opportunity
that
saw
him
take
the
plunge
a
bit
earlier
than
he expected, although, business just kept growing.
2001
was
his
introduction
to
Numerically
Controlled
machinery.
A
Biesse
CNC
router,
and
then
in
2002,
a
Homag
Beam-Saw
along
with
the
software
Cabinet
Vision
Solid
‘Manufacturing’ to aid in the manufacture of ‘High End’ architectural joinery and cabinetary.
Soon
after,
he
realised
the
Cabinet
and
Shopfitting
industry
had
a
powerful
need
for
a
supplier
that
could
concentrate
on
supplying
computer
cut
componentry
that
was
‘Out
of
the
Ordinary’.
Before
long,
efforts
were
being
directed
to
soley
supplying
other
Cabinet
and
Shopfitting
organisations
in
order
to
assist
them
with
remaining
competitive,
but
at
the
same
time, the business itself became more profitable and gained a more reliable client base.
Now,
Computer
Aided
Manufacturing
has
become
to
many,
the
new
industry
standard,
however,
the
problem
still
remains
that
many
Cabinet-makers
are
tradespeople
on
the
tools,
and
many
of
the
larger
organisations
Setout
or
Production
departments
are
simply
overloaded.

facilty

allow
the
business

operates
on
the
tools
to
finally
enter
the
age
of
Computer
Aided
Manufacturing
machinery,
and
to
also
assist
with
the
overflow
of
the
larger
Setout
and
Production departments.
It’s
simple,
my
goal
is
to
be
a
part
of
the
ever
changing
world
of
CNC
machinery. Automation is in my opinion the most amazing thing.
The
ability
to
go
from
just
a
thought,
and
then
to
end
up
with
quite
a
large
robust
piece
of
machinery
to
bring
that
thought
to
creation
with
extreme
precision.
